A BRIDE and groom 'felt incredibly lucky' to marry each other surrounded by people they love.
James Robinson married Charlotte, née Firth, at Healey Barn near Riding Mill, surrounded by friends and family.
James, 29, proposed to Charlotte, 28, on holiday in Italy in July 2023, on a bridge in Burano near Venice.
The couple, who live in Prudhoe, met while studying at Queen Elizabeth High School, Hexham, and reconnected after university.
James is a local democracy reporter in the North East while Charlotte is a specialist teacher and they tied the knot on November 1.
James wore a Moss Bros suit and Charlotte wore a Madi Lane dress from YAP Bridal and Converse embroidered with the wedding flowers, which were sunflowers, orange Germinis and roses, with blue thistle and foliage for texture, supplied by Leann’s Flowers.
The groom's best man was his best friend, James Battye, who he met at school, and groomsmen were Harry and Lee Robinson, his brothers, and school friends Matthew McNally, Duncan Hutson and James Halliwell.
James said: "I can honestly say it was the best day of my life. Everything went perfectly and we couldn’t have asked for more."
Charlotte's bridesmaids wore teal Ever Pretty dresses and jewellery by MollsHandmade. Charlotte's maid of honour, Sarah Campbell, was the bride’s best friend and an old school friend.
The bridesmaids were Anna Firth, the bride’s sister, Indigo (flower girl), the bride’s cousin, and friends Charlotte Blayney, Fay Yalcinkaya and Harriet Wanless.
Charlotte added: "All the cliches are true, it really is the best day and it really does go by so fast! We felt incredibly lucky to be surrounded by so many people that we love."
The venue hosted 130 night-time guests and the bride and groom’s favourite sweets were given as wedding favours - watermelon slices for the bride, and Haribo Jellymen for the groom.
Susan, Charlotte's friend, made the wedding cake, which was a three-tier creation with orange flowers and buttercream icing. Each tier was a different flavour - pistachio, Victoria sponge and a lemon and lavender cake.
The couple surprised everyone with their first dance, which was a routine to Life with You by the Proclaimers. This song held special significance for them as it was played after their proposal in Italy.
Erin Connell sang during the signing of the register with guitar played by Matthew Stokoe.
Night-time entertainment was provided by Northumberland Wedding DJs.
Haltwhistle’s Penny Rose Photography captured the day's touching moments.
The groom's parents are Ken Robinson and Vicki Dillon from Hexham and the bride's parents are David and Fiona Firth also from Hexham.
