An acclaimed musical duo is set to perform at Hexham Abbey.
The concert, part of the Hexham and District Music Society's 2024/2025 season, will feature cellist Laura van der Heijden and pianist Jâms Coleman.
The performance is scheduled for Tuesday, November 26, at 7.30pm.
The pair will play a programme inspired by their album, Path to the Moon, which was streamed two million times worldwide in its first week of release.
Joan Peugniez, chair of the society, said: "We are delighted to bring Laura and Jâms to Hexham.
"They are two hugely talented musicians and their programme of music by Britten, Debussy, Fauré and Franck looks very enticing."
Ms Heijden, hailed as a 'superstar cellist' by The Times, is a former winner of the BBC Young Musician competition.
Her recent recording of William Walton’s cello concerto with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra was praised as 'mesmerising' by Gramophone magazine.
Mr Coleman has been acclaimed for his 'outstanding' playing and 'exquisite touch' by the BBC Music Magazine.
He is in demand as a soloist, chamber musician, and vocal accompanist, and has worked with artists such as the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the Britten Sinfonia, Sir Bryn Terfel, and the Royal Northern Sinfonia’s new artistic partner, Maria Włoszczowska.
Tickets for the concert are on sale at the Queen's Hall box office.
Full programme details and videos of the duo can be found on the society’s website at hexhammusic.net.
