A knowledgeable and 'professional' physiotherapist has been named the Hexham Courant's Trader of the Week.
Sara Mather, owner of InSync Physiotherapy at Burn Lane, Hexham, was voted for the title by reader Andy Goodfellow, who said: "Sara is the best physiotherapist I've seen by far. Always professional and knows what she's talking about."
She started the practice in 2019 and has lived in rural Northumberland her whole life, now living in Hexham.
"I saw there was a need in the area for rural physiotherapy," Sara said. "We go out to care homes, and people's houses, but we've also got the main clinic in Hexham which has everything under one roof.
"We've got a dedicated pre and post-op gym and a strength and conditioning area, we offer direct referrals to private consultants and for ultrasound and MRI scanning. We have strong and close relationships with the GP practices in the area."
InSync Physiotherapy's typical patient area stretches from Gilsland to Riding Mill and as far north as Bellingham.

"We pride ourselves on being very community-led. We're giving access to what you'd expect from a city centre practice. I worked in Newcastle for many years and realised what people were getting in the city was very different to what we were getting out here, so I wanted to provide something that was more community-friendly."
The business runs pilates and yoga classes in village halls across Tynedale and strives to make physiotherapy affordable to the masses, not just for the few.
Services offered include standard physiotherapy, sports-specific physiotherapy, acupuncture, sports massages, access to injection therapy and shockwave therapy.
"I think Hexham is a fantastic place to run a business, the community is so supportive. Essentially I started my business nine months before Covid and these people allowed me to get through the next steps."
Sara said she was 'honoured' to be Trader of the Week.
"There are many people who deserve to be Trader of the Week," she said. "There are many businesses out there that work equally as hard and provide equally as good a service throughout the Tyne Valley."
