We asked our readers how they would feel if their nearest Post Office closed.
Here's what they said.
Pat Stott said: "Angry, did my passport at Prudhoe last week, just heard my new one is on its way. And where would we do our banking?"
Jonny Hawkes said: "There are basically two staff members at Hexham Post Office and they do a great job considering the amount of work they do and abuse they get."
Carla Rowley said: "I’d not be able to run my business, the staff at Hexham are amazing and work under the worst circumstances, I genuinely don’t know how they do it."
Business page Petals of Hexham commented: "Disappointed we send a lot of parcels where on earth would we do that."
Andrew David Robson said: "I would be fuming and furious if the Post Office in Hexham does close, because I send parcels with cards and presents in the post to people for both their birthdays and for Christmas."
Daphne Threadgold-Reay said: "I would be devastated the staff at Branch End Spar are fantastic and so helpful."
Gary West commented: "Haltwhistle's has long gone as well as every bank."
