A MAN allegedly in possession of a hedge cutter has been arrested. 

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At 8pm yesterday (Sunday, November 17) we received reports of disturbance in the West Wylam area.

“It was reported that a man, who was in possession of a hedge cutter, had been involved in a verbal dispute with a neighbour.

“Officers attended the scene where a 37-year-old man was subsequently arrested for possession of an offensive weapon, he remains in police custody at this time.

“Enquiries are ongoing into the incident.”
