A magician from Prudhoe has scooped a top industry award.
Paul Innes was crowned 'Magician of the Year' for the North East and Yorkshire region at the Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA) 2025.
The winners were announced at an event at The South Causey Inn, County Durham, on November 11.
Mr Innes said: "This award is really special to me, as it’s voted for by recently married couples whose weddings I have performed at over the past year.
"The fact I’ve only been a full-time magician and entertainer for 18 months now makes the recognition even more special.
"A huge thank you to all the married couples who booked me to entertain everyone on their special day, and for voting for me to win this award."
The Wedding Industry Awards are based on average voter scores and feedback from customers over the past 12 months, as well as the opinions of more than 150 expert judges.
A total of 27,300 votes were cast for 1,500 entrants, of which 1,100 independent companies and individuals became regional finalists.
Damian Bailey, founder of The Wedding Industry Awards, said: "TWIA is the most rigorous, respected and coveted awards in the UK wedding industry, so the regional winners really are at the top of their game.
"The competition is tough, the standards very high indeed, but thanks to over 27,000 client votes and our panel of more than 150 expert judges, the regional winners have risen to the top in an industry that absolutely demands the best."
Mr Innes will now move on to the national final in London in January 2025.
