Hexham Town Women's Institute (WI) had an evening of musical entertainment at their recent November meeting.
Professional musicians Martin and Jill Hughes performed a selection of classical and operatic duets, ending with lively versions of 'The Waters of Tyne' and 'Bobby Shaftoe'.
The husband and wife duo also shared stories of their early introduction to music and their career journey.
Violinist Mr Hughes, formerly of the Northern Sinfonia orchestra, is now the artistic director of Hexham Abbey Festival.
His wife Ms Hughes is a flautist with numerous recordings.
The event was attended by WI members from Hexham, Humshaugh and Acomb.
