A Santa fun run will fundraise for a palliative care charity.
People are encouraged to don their Santa hats and join organisers for a fun run from Hagg Bank Bridge, Wylam, on an out-and-back 5K route, to fundraise for Tynedale Hospice at Home.
The event is organised by Luke Hilliard Fitness and Running. Luke said: “The Christmas 5K fun run is a fantastic opportunity to bring people together, enjoy a fun day out, and raise money for a very worthy cause. Tynedale Hospice at Home does incredible work, and I’m proud to support them again this year. “
Matthew Crowe, fundraising officer for the Hospice, said: “We are enormously grateful to all the hard work put in by Luke in setting up and organising such an event. This run is following on from the successful run in July. Monies raised through the fees will go to support care services that the Hospice provides to our local community."
Tynedale Hospice supports families in Tynedale, West Northumberland and Ponteland dealing with life-limiting illnesses through providing nursing care, complementary therapy, patient transport and bereavement support.
The event will be held on Sunday, December 8 from 11am.
