AN internationally acclaimed pianist will give a recital at an upcoming concert.

Martino Tirimo will perform at the Music in Allendale concert series on Saturday, September 14 from 7.30pm at St Cuthbert's Church.

His programme will include the last, and what is perhaps the most challenging, of Beethoven’s 32 piano sonatas.

Martino's playing has been described as 'among the most haunting and fascinating of all and the acme of musical refinement' by the classical music industry.

He has been labelled a 'pianist of vision' and a 'formidable virtuoso and one with unmistakable magnetism, belonging to a generation of greats'.

Tickets cost £17.50 and include a light supper post-concert. Accompanied children can attend for free.
