WE asked our readers how they feel about businesses that only allow cashless payments.
Here's what they said.
Alan Raimes said: "It should be made illegal to only accept cashless payments," while Stephen Blackburn also said: "It's the British legal currency and it should be illegal to refuse cash."
JoJo Johnson said: "If I can avoid them, I do. It will become difficult to avoid them if food or grocery stores start with this policy though."
Judith Ridley said: "If everyone avoided or walked out of a business that won't accept cash, the rule would soon change."
Carol Henderson said: "Simple go elsewhere. It's their loss," and Lisa Cr said: "We got caught out with this on Saturday night. Very frustrating. We use cash a lot and I will certainly be avoiding local places that refuse cash."
Ross Breen added: "If I can avoid them I will."
Cameron Robbie said: "If they don't take cash they don't get my business simple," while Paula Hall said: "We should have the choice of using both."
Natalie Paxton said: "They’re limiting their sales by not taking cash, just offer both," and Lynne Robbie said: "I would avoid a business that refuses to take cash."
Gemma Robinson said: "It’s wrong on so many levels."
Rory Hutton said: "Should take both. All tender is payable. Simple."
Em Wilkinson commented: "Travellers from overseas may be strung with fees if they use their foreign credit cards."
