FORMER footballer Sol Campbell’s luxury Northumberland home could be yours – if you have around £6m to spare.

The former England player is selling the nine-bedroom Hallington Hall for an asking price of £5,950,000.

Having bought the property in 2009, Sol and his interior designer wife, Fiona Barratt, have renovated the home with an exceptional attention to detail.

The Grade II-listed home, being sold by estate agent Savills, boasts a number of features fit for any mansion.

It is set in almost 60 acres of grounds with three cottages, a gymnasium and a tennis court.

Fiona, the granddaughter of housebuilding group founder Sir Lawrie Barratt, has ensured her award-winning interior design is present throughout.

The estate agent’s brochure reveals: “The hall provides excellent accommodation, spanning three floors, comprising three principal reception rooms, a stunning family kitchen, study, play room, shower room plus ancillary rooms along with seven en-suite bedrooms, two further bedrooms and a family bathroom.

A wealth of original features are complemented by contemporary design, underfloor heating, Rako lighting system and state-of-the-art audio systems

The couple employed local craftsmen to create wardrobes, doors and bookcases.

A sweeping carriage driveway, flanked by lawns and stone walls, makes for a stunning arrival to the property.

Constructed in 1768, the Georgian property was built for the industrialist Ralph Soulsby and remained in his family until 1928.

It was then taken over by the Trevelyan family until 1962 when it was sold by the great historian Sir George Trevelyan.

Since their move to Hallington Hall, Sol and his family have become regular faces in the community. They are due to make an appearance at Corbridge’s popular Christmas tree festival to judge the competition.
