A Northumberland town has the highest vaccination rate in England.
According to figures from NHS England, 94 per cent of Morpeth’s over 25s have had at least one Covid vaccination, 10 per cent higher than the national average.
There are in fact three areas in the North East in the ‘top 10’ areas for vaccinations - the others are Rothbury & Longframlington and Whitley Bay North, which both have a vaccination rate of 93 per cent.
At the other end of the scale, Newcastle City Centre and Arthur’s Hill are 6th in the bottom 10 – with only 27 per cent of over 25s vaccinated.
