THE Brexit Party candiate for Hexham will stand down following an announcement the party will not contest Conservative-won seats.
Nigel Farage has said that in the upcoming General Election on December 12, the Brexit Party will not field any candidates against the Conservatives in the 317 seats they won at the last general election. It will instead concentrate its efforts on the seats that are held by the Labour party.
The Brexit Party candiate for the Hexham constituency was announced earlier this year as Keller Fong, from Corbridge. Last week she was replaced by Mark F. G. Griffin, also from Corbridge.
However, he announced on Monday that due to Mr Farage's announcement, the party would no longer stand in Hexham.
