A COUNTY councillor from Tynedale is seeking to be elected MP for a North-East constituency outside of Northumberland.
Nick Oliver, who represents Corbridge on Northumberland County Council, announced on Monday evening he will contest the Jarrow seat for the Conservative party.
While the seat has been Labour since 1935, Mr Oliver was confident he could sway constituents to vote blue.
