Close House have announced leading golfer Lee Westwood will continue in his role as the club’s touring professional.
Westwood, who recently finished second in The Players Championship, has been attached to the Heddon-on-the-Wall club since 2011.
“We are delighted to announce that Lee Westwood has extended his stay as our Official Touring Professional!” said Close House in a statement on social media.
“Everyone at Close House is extremely pleased to be continuing our long-standing relationship.”
The venue is one of the finest golf clubs in the country and has in recent seasons hosted the British Masters twice in both 2017 and 2020.
The 47-year-old is one of the leading names in Golf and is a regular frontrunner in tournaments around the world.
The last 12 months has seen Westwood perform strongly on several occasions and he also won the European Tour golfer of the year award for a fourth time as a result.
The Ryder Cup veteran also added on Twitter that he’s “looking forward to it,” after quoting the news from Close House.
