Athletics star Richard Kilty was spotted competing in a local event in the region as he continues his return from injury.
Kilty, who competes in events including the 60m, 100m and 200m sprint, appeared at an event in Hexham last Thursday evening ahead of Olympic Trials coming up later this month.
The North East sprinter has won a number of medals on the world stage including a gold at the Commonwealth Games as part of the 4x100m relay team in 2018 and also a gold medal in the same discipline at the European Championships in Zürich back in 2014.
The event at Hexham saw him compete in the 200m event, where he ran his season best time of 20.98 seconds as he continued his return from injury.
Kilty also claimed silver in the World Championships in 2019 in Doha in the 4x100m relay.
