A WATERSKI club celebrated its fortieth anniversary over the weekend.
Kielder Waterski Wakeboard Club, based at Kielder Water and Forest Park, began in 1983.
The club hosted the free anniversary event, Just Add Water & Ski, on September 2 and 3.
Paul Smith, chairman of the club, said: "All participants became guest members for the day and had full use of the club's facilities.
"It had an amazing response, over the weekend 55 novice skiers and their families attended, from Lilly, a 6-year-old trying wakeboarding, to Nick, a 62-year-old water skier.
"Two boats were in use and never stopped on both days. This event shows the desire of young people to try other sports and stay active.
"It was remarkable to see the enthusiasm of the youngsters, not to forget parents who also gave waterskiing a try. If the success of the weekend could be measured in smiles and happy faces, then we must hold this event again," he added.
