RIDING Mill Tennis Club took advantage of a rare break in October’s persistent rain to stage its autumn tournament on Saturday, October 28.
Riding Mill is a social and friendly club based next to Riding Mill Burn.
It has been established for nearly 60 years and offers players of all ages and standards a vast array of playing opportunities.
A total of 16 members took part in the traditional round-robin mixed doubles competition, making maximum use of the club’s three courts.
After each player completed seven matches, points were totted up before Caroline Coates and Scott Breen were declared the winners.
Caroline Coates was also successful in the summer tournament, claiming the ladies' doubles title alongside partner Suzie Aitchison.
