In the Bay Plastics Northern Alliance Premier Division, Wallington extended their lead at the top over nearest rivals Alnwick Town to eight points with a fifth win in a row.
Trevor Baston's side beat Ponteland United 1-0 courtesy of a 76th minute strike from top-scorer Jordan Nellis and face the same opponents on Saturday in the semi-finals of the Northumberland FA Senior Benevolent Bowl (1.30pm kick-off at Ponteland).
Next Tuesday (March 5), Wallington play AFC Newbiggin in the Team Valley Carpets Challenge Cup Final at Craik Park, Morpeth (7.00pm kick-off).
Haltwhistle Jubilee moved up to sixth place in the Premier Division at the half-way stage of the season after coming from behind to beat Hebburn Town Reserves 3-1 in a match played at Hexham. Their goals were scored by Greg Irwin (2) and Dan Parker.
In the Marsh Sports Insurance 3rd Division, Prudhoe YC Seniors Reserves made it three wins in a row against bottom of the table Whitley Bay Sporting Club A. Their goals in a 6-1 victory were scored by David Burns (3), Steven Knox (2) and Kieran Baptist.
