18-year-old Haydon Bridge-based Muay Thai boxer Finn Welch, younger brother of Joe who won the European Middleweight title in November, came out on top against the more experienced Kelvin So in his latest fight in Leeds earlier this month.

Making his PRO-AM debut against 25-year-old So, who has contested 10 fights compared to Welch's five bouts, the South Tyne teenager secured the win on points after a full blooded battle over five rounds.

There were heavy exchanges from both boxers with Welch scoring a crucial knockdown in the second round before finishing off strongly in the concluding round to clinch a unanimous decision.

His next fights are in Liverpool on March 31 and June 1.
