A day at the races was a success over the weekend in Corbridge.
Tynedale Point-to-Point was held at Downhills Corbridge on April 20, with the kind permission of Sir Hugh and Lady Blackett.
The event attracted a good crowd of spectators to watch the two pony races, sponsored by Mowden Hall School in Stocksfield, and six horse races.

Spectators watched the highly contested horse races, with excellent corporate hospitality provided by the Tynedale Ladies and two Burn Catering Vans, and the bar run by Stamfordham Young Farmers proved very popular as did the delicious Tony's Ices from Ponteland.
For the shoppers, there was a good selection of stalls, sweets, clothing and a bouncy castle, hook-a-duck and face painting for the children.
Clerk of the Course and chairman of the Tynedale Point to Point, Peter Forster, said he was pleased with the number of spectators and thought the course rode well, and had a lot of complementary comments about the running of the day from owners and jockeys, plus the sunshine was the icing on the cake.
