Hexham Tennis Club welcomed over 100 people to a successful open day event earlier this month, gaining a number of new members in the process.
The rain kept away on Saturday April 20, encouraging visitors to enjoy giving tennis a go, including knocking a ball around with regulars or joining in the activities organised by coach Tom and member Isobel.
Ladies captain Caroline Armstrong said: "It was a pleasure to see lots of new children try tennis for the first time and find a new sport to keep them healthy and active. There were plenty of refreshments kindly provided by the members to keep people rehydrated and boost their energy levels, so they could go back and continue their enjoyment of tennis on the courts."
The club offers different membership options including £48 a year for a child aged 8 to 18, £75 for 18 to 25s, and £180 for over 25’s. The adult memberships can be paid over three months.
If you missed the Open Day but you or your child would still like to go and give tennis a try or rekindle a love for the sport, visit www.hexhamtennisclub.co.uk or call Caroline on 07967 156233 for more details.
