Three teenagers from Northumberland are set to represent Team England in a paddleboarding championship later this year.

On June 29 and June 30, Falmouth hosted hundreds of paddlers who competed in the GBSUP qualifiers, with the aim of making the ISA World Championships in Copenhagen in September.

And three youngsters from Hexham were all successful, and have been selected as part of Team England for that event in Denmark.

James Little (18) from Wylam, has just finished his A Levels at Queen Elizabeth High School in Hexham. He currently trains with Northern SUP Race Team.

Tess Page (15) from Gosforth has been selected alongside older sister Annabel, who is currently studying at Exeter University.

The sport of stand up paddleboarding, specifically SUP racing, is being considered for the Olympic Games with a possible debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics.

For anyone interested in getting involved in the sport, events are set at Beadnell and Whitley Bay in August.
