Haydon Bridge-based Muay Thai boxer Finn Welch maintained his unbeaten record since turning professional in front of a capacity crowd at Scotswood Sports Centre last Saturday.
On the main card at the Grainger Park Muay Thai show, he was up against Aberdeen-based Miguel McLeary who struggles to get competitive fights in Scotland. Welch showcased his best performance to date by staying cool, calm and collected.
Stepping up the pace in Round Three, he dropped McLeary with a hook-cross combination. After a count of eight, Welch finished off his opponent with a beautiful spinning elbow knockout.
With his performance, Welch won the coveted Deachkalek Award - an all expenses paid training trip to Thailand - funded by Lisa Coe.
